QUALITY MEETS CREATIVITY AT SUSAN SHAHINIAN DESIGNS
Here you will find one of a kind pieces of wearable art, handmade with exceptional attention to detail. Only the finest of materials are used; Italian glass, PMC (fine silver), freshwater pearls, and semi-precious stones. The designs are elegant, yet casual. They are treasures that can be worn anytime, anywhere.
What is PMC?
Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is a relatively new material developed by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation in 1990. Tiny particles of reclaimed fine silver or gold are combined with a rice binder to create a surprisingly malleable material that feels much like porcelain clay. It is easily shaped and textured, allowing for a wide range of creative potential.
When PMC is fired in a kiln to 1110-1650 degrees F the binder burns off and you are left with a 99.9% fine silver or gold creation.
I hope you enjoy my jewelry as much as I enjoy making it!
